53-year-old Jennifer Lopez is married. The Bronx native looked stunning as she posed in bed on Saturday, October 29 for images taken by Rob Zangardi wearing white underwear and a matching cream robe by Italian brand Intimissimi. In the pictures, she appeared to be wearing just two pieces of jewellery: her wedding band from husband Ben Affleck, 50, and a necklace that read “Mrs.” to signify her new identity. She captioned the collection of images with “#ThisIsMe… #SelfCare #HappyWeekend #TakingAMoment,” along with a white heart emoji. With a matte eye and rusty red lip, her glam by JLo Beauty and Scott Barnes Cosmetics was equally flawless.
The “Jenny From The Block” singer announced publicly that she had legally changed her name from Jennifer Lynn Lopez to Jennifer Lynn Affleck after getting married to Ben in a small, legal ceremony in Las Vegas back in July.
The only thing that matters in marriage when love is genuine, she said in the letter dated July 18, “is one another and the pledge we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving and good to one another.” She said, “If you hang around long enough, maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive-through in Las Vegas at 2:30 in the morning in the tunnel of love drive-through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with.”
The name change wasn’t a surprise because she had previously disclosed it during their initial engagement in 2004. In an interview with Access Hollywood host Pat O’Brien that was filmed in a North Vancouver rental property, he pressed, “I want to know, a week after you’re married, what will your name be?” When asked what her legal name would be, Jennifer promptly responded, “Jennifer Lopez, certainly, but my name will be Jennifer Affleck.” J. Aff doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, but…, she quipped, making fun of her J.Lo moniker.
