What kind of preparation went into designing your outfits for Cannes 2022?
Even though it was my second time, I gave each outfit I created for Cannes a lot of attention. Each small element of each of these works of art, including every piece of clothing, accessory, shoe to go with every outfit, haircut, and pretty much everything else, must be unique! Everything I wanted to wear had a particular touch because of my incredible crew. Even while I’m quite conscious of how I look, I usually leave the finer aspects to my staff. I used the same procedure this time, and I must congratulate them for a job well done! Each outward manifestation was meant to have an effect, as I had planned.
Which was your favourite look this year and why?
I worked really hard on all the looks with my staff. I participated at every stage of planning, right down to the last detail. I will thus say that I loved them all. The encouragement I received for my second trip to Cannes made me feel both honoured and happy to have the chance to represent my country while donning the finest couture and designers.
Who is your fashion inspiration?
I’ve always thought Priyanka Chopra Jonas is exceptional in the way she conducts herself and owns the red carpet at events, whether they are private or professional. Her confidence is the attribute I value most about her, and I have never kept quiet about it. She is not just a style icon, but her way of life is also very admirable.
What does fashion mean to you?
For me, style is comfort. It involves dressing in a way that accentuates my body and reflects my personal style. Personally, I think that having personal style is more about wearing what you feel comfortable wearing and, most importantly, being yourself.
When it comes to fashion, are you a maximalist or a minimalist?
Depends on how I’m feeling. I dress ostentatiously when I’m in the mood for anything lavish. Even if I want to keep things simple, I make sure there is a balance between comfort and style. Ultimately, the costume needs to be distinctive and reflect my individuality.
