Today we’re announcing the new and improved LEGO® Ideas Test Lab, where we’ll be looking at submissions to the LEGO® Ideas platform to see if they’ve got what it takes to become an official LEGO set and be sold in stores around the world. We’re excited that in this new Test Lab phase, we’ll not only bring you products that you’ve helped shape through your votes and comments on LEGO® Ideas, but also exciting sets that you haven’t seen yet!
The Basics: What is LEGO® Ideas Test Lab?
The LEGO® Ideas Test Lab is a place where people can test out their ideas for new LEGO sets, and submit them as a project on the site. If it gets 10,000 votes within one year of posting, it will be considered for review by the LEGO Review Board, and if they approve of it, the set will go into production.
How to Get Involved in the Test Lab
Do you have a LEGO® idea? If so, now is the time to submit it for review through the LEGO® IDEAS TEST LAB. The Test Lab is a place where ideas are reviewed and can be turned into reality if they are selected for production by a jury of expert judges.
What You Can Expect from the Test Lab
The LEGO® Ideas team is excited to announce that we are launching a test lab for the next three months where new, top-rated projects will be tested and evaluated for potential release as LEGO sets. The test lab will not only help you identify whether or not your project has what it takes to become an official LEGO set, but also provide you with valuable feedback from our expert panel of judges on how your idea can be improved before submitting it as a formal proposal.
The Benefits of Taking Part in the Test Lab
In the past, there have been two phases of the test lab: the first was a submission phase where LEGO fans were invited to create and submit their ideas for a chance to win an official LEGO set created by them; and the second phase was a testing phase, where top selected projects underwent rigorous testing with focus groups before being considered for production as an official LEGO set.
