Following Argentina’s Gonzalo Montiel’s game-winning shot, the 35-year-old superstar, who scored twice against France at the Qatar stadium, celebrated the thrilling triumph with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and his lovely three children, Thiago, 10, Mateo, 7, and Ciro, 4.
When Antonela and their children met up with Lionel on the sidelines, they were all sporting matching soccer jerseys to show their support. The legendary athlete put his arms around his family and grinned as they passed the trophy back and forth. Antonela made sure to record the event by taking photographs of her gorgeous family enjoying their early holiday gift.
What a gift it was, too! After years and five World Cup appearances, Lionel finally won the championship in the 2022 tournament, becoming the first player in World Cup history to score a goal in each match of the knockout stages, according to CBS News.
Lionel’s lovely model wife obviously enjoyed the difficult victory. The soccer player has had Antonela by his side ever since 2007. Five years later, they welcomed Thiago, then Mateo in 2015 and Ciro in 2018. The pair made the decision to get married a year before Ciro arrived. According to the BBC, the ceremony was referred to as “the wedding of the century” in addition to being called “the wedding of the year” by an Argentine daily.
