With all of the good news coming her way in 2022, Alia Bhatt is sure to have a wonderful year. Gangubai Kathiawadi opened the year with a blockbuster at the box office. She could not imagine her wedding as perfect as Alia Bhatt’s that took place on April 14, 2022, when she married the love of her life, Ranbir Kapoor. As if this wedding could not get any better or more massive, just days ago, she announced her first pregnancy with Ranbir.
Messages of congratulations, wishes, and blessings have poured in from friends and family. On June 27, 2022, she announced it with a picture of her lying on a bed, sitting by Ranbir Kapoor, looking at the sonography with an emoji of a heart in the centre.
With a caption that said Our baby … coming soon, the post spread around the internet like wildfire and famous celebs like Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Tiger Shroff, Parineeti Chopra, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, and even her Hollywood debut Heart of Stone co-star Gal Gadot left congratulatory messages on the post.
For the Bhatts and Kapoor families, there was simply no end to their joy and gratitude, as they took to social media to express them, (among them being Neetu Bhat, Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Shaheen Bhatt, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni). One snap shows Soni Razdan hugging Bhatt on a safari tour and Razdan tagged the caption, Gratitude. May your tribe increase. And another depicts Shaheen Bhatt sitting down next to his wife and attaching the text, Mom and dad.
However, the highlight of the day was Neetu Kapoor’s wonderful reactions and social media post. The paps asked her about her feelings, to which she replied that she had only learned about the news from the paps. Afterwards, she posted a picture of Ranbir and Alia in an embrace, which only fuelled more rumours.
The image shows Ranbir holding a ring box. This took little time for the internet to assume it may have been a photograph from the proposal when Ranbir Kapoor asked Alia.
Alia once again made headlines when she hounded a leading entertainment portal for stating that Ranbir was on her way to the UK, where Alia was shooting for her Hollywood debut. According to reports, he went there to pick her up and return home.
The actress took to social media to share a screenshot of the same, alongside a write-up stating – We still live in a patriarchal world. Not only did nothing get delayed, but no one needs to PICK anyone up, because I’m a woman and not a parcel!!! I don’t even have to REST but it’s good to know you’ll have a doctor’s certification as well. This is the year 2022. Can we please get away from this archaic way of thinking! Now let me go…my shot is ready”.
The whirlwind of activity that took place ever since Alia announced her pregnancy last year ended on a positive note with a gratitude post. It’s a lovely picture of what may be interpreted as one of their wedding functions, where she thanked everyone for sending them love and blessings.
